Sketch it Out

Graphic Designers are notorious for being terrible drawers. It seems odd to me that any other design discipline requires a very strong sense of sketching and visualizing on paper before actually moving forward with a concept. Fashion, Architecture, Product, Furniture, etc…. the list goes on and on.

Graphic designers seem to be lost in the shuffle. I can only imagine how much more incredible graphic design solutions could be if only they started out as concepts on paper. This new generation of graphic designers are relying too much on their computers for creative solutions.

Sketch it out…. please. Use your hands to not only type and move a mouse…. or gesture on a screen. Use your hands to document your thoughts on paper. Thoughts are fleeting — you should capture them, learn from them, and ultimately be amazed. No one else can draw what you can think of.
