In our world of collective innovation, we are constantly reminded of how important it is to be collaborative. Sharing our thoughts; sharing our voice; sharing our space; sharing our techniques; etc… etc… etc…

Do we always need to be sharing so much? As much as we think we’re collaborative, we need episodes of introversion. Designers create based on our own experiences and observations. We create within our own crazy laboratory of innovation that exists within our thoughts and soul. We try out techniques and crazy combinations to make sure it is worthy to exist and thrive outside of our care.

Designers are secretly introverts and mad scientists — we need this craziness in order to create something out of nothing — ex nihilo.
